Review platforms are very handy. If you want to try out a new restaurant, bar or other establishment , you can quickly and easily find out what to expect as a guest. Naturally, the opinions of the guest and the landlord often differ widely in the case of negative reviews. A case from Great Britain sets new standards here, as the British Sun reports.

The occasion is the angry Facebook review of a woman after she celebrated her sister-in-law's 50th birthday in a pub called "Cowshed at Hucknall" in Nottinghamshire. The lady was anything but satisfied with the experience and writes: “I celebrated my sister-in-law's 50th birthday here yesterday. Cute little bar. Spent around 700 pounds here (over 780 euros, editor's note) on drinks and pizza. ”So far so good, but the woman then complains that

  • the service staff showed an impossible behavior,
  • the company was asked to leave the bar because one of the guests was too drunk,
  • got kicked out just because you stood next to the tables,
  • they had been banned from entering.

The lady admits that a family member got sick , but they cleaned everything by themselves - and one can expect better treatment for the amount that was spent in the restaurant.

Pub's scathing reply to negative review from customers who acted like 'entitled little toddlers'https: //t.co/83aH2Dnb9z

Host does not want to put up with negative criticism

Of course, the host of the bar sees the whole situation differently, but how different is surprisingly and painfully clear in several screenshots published by the Sun. But let's start from the beginning: First of all, the landlord thanks you for the feedback, after all, it would give you the opportunity to report which customers you sometimes have to deal with in the bar.

“First of all, I would like to mention the £ 700 that your company allegedly spent on us.” The most expensive pizza on the menu would be £ 9, the most expensive drink £ 6.10. So you would have had to eat 77 pizzas, 115 drinks or around 39 pizzas and 57 drinks. To be on the safe side, however, he had another look at the cash register and the images from the security cameras. In fact, the company paid 280 pounds (about 312 euros, editor's note) for eight pizzas and five rounds of drinks. That is still a proud sum, but not quite the claimed 780 euros. The comment to this: "If you are already lying, glossing over or want to tell a story made up, then try a more believable story."

Party company behaves completely wrong

After this little arithmetic exercise, the answer is devoted to the behavior of the society in question : "While the young adults were an exception, the other guests acted like rebellious toddlers from the very first moment ." As this was not possible, the group was advised to be there when the bar opened. However, they showed up half an hour late, the desired tables were occupied. Nevertheless, a few guests were transferred and so the group did allows contiguous places.

As a result, the shop's decoration was quickly taken apart to hang up your own birthday decorations. The group was allowed to take other people's food with them , as there were probably food allergies among some of the guests. The broken glasses were swept up without complaint, the smeared cake remains wiped up on the floor, table and benches and the loud conversations and arguments of the group were tolerated. Doesn't actually sound like "impossible behavior" by the staff.

Treated staff like servants until a waitress burst into tears

As a "thank you", the service staff was treated like servants, with loud heckling, insults and other rude behavior. It even went so far that a waitress burst into tears. In addition, the individual guests had to be repeatedly advised to remain seated and to adhere to the applicable distance rules , unfortunately without success.

Other guests eventually complained about the noisy, obnoxious group, but that wasn't enough. At the "grand finale", a man in a blue T-shirt got nauseous and vomited all over the bar, just not on the toilet . Instead of getting help with cleaning up, the group actually insisted on keeping to themselves care, but only smeared the dirt on an even larger area and was still loud and rude because the waitress, who had been made to cry a short time before, had fixed the misery.

Wirt gets plenty of encouragement on Facebook

After this description, it is hardly surprising that the group was banned from the house and the landlord received broad approval on Facebook . After the answer was posted, it quickly found over 20,000 likes and 6,000 comments with expressions of condolences and encouraging words. The team then thanked them, but forbade the lady being attacked or insulted. Sufficient comments were made and the post was then deleted. It's good that the British media captured him with screenshots for posterity. (ante) * Merkur.de is part of the nationwide Ippen-Digital editorial network.
