After a flight from the Greek holiday island of Zakynthos to Great Britain, all around 200 passengers and crew members were sent to a two-week quarantine.
16 guests of the vacation plane have already tested positive, the broadcaster BBC reported.
According to British health experts, seven of them were most likely already contagious on board.
On the flight from Zakynthos to Cardiff (Wales) on August 25, a number of passengers are said to have ignored the corona protective measures.
Many would not have worn masks as prescribed;
the crew hardly intervened, it was said.
"Flight was a debacle"
"The flight was a debacle," a woman told the BBC.
Another woman said she wasn't surprised by the news.
"My husband and I decided in advance to go into quarantine at home."
She already has "some symptoms", but she hopes that she just has a bit of a cold.
Many passengers walked around on the plane without masks to talk to acquaintances, said the woman.
The machine was full of "selfish Cov-idiots", she said, alluding to the Covid-19 disease.
After landing, most of the passengers got up to take off their masks.
Tui wants to investigate allegations
The allegations will be followed up closely, the broadcaster quoted a spokesman for the travel company Tui.
Many young Britons in Greece have a reputation for partying and drinking alcohol a lot.
Since the corona crisis, all airlines have a mask requirement for the entire stay on board.
Airlines have emphasized several times that passengers in airplanes are very safe.
This is also due to the clean air, which should be as pure as in an operating room.
According to scientists, however, the perfect control of the air flows only works if the air nozzles are all open.
But not all passengers know that - and the airlines do not usually make corresponding announcements on the plane.
