The last time that Lady Gaga stepped on the stage of the MTV VMAs was in 2013 and in this edition she swept four awards and incredible shows.

This August 30, the MTV Video Music Awards 2020 were held in New York virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic that is being experienced worldwide.

This installment will be one of the most remembered, since fans were able to enjoy the performances of their favorite artists like BTS , Ariana Grande , Miley Cyrus , The Weeknd and Maluma .

But without a doubt, one of the most anticipated stars was Lady Gaga , who after seven years stepped on this stage again. It is worth mentioning that it was in the 2013 edition when the interpreter made her last presentation at the awards.

Tonight, Gaga swept four statuettes: Best Collaboration , Song of the Year , Artist of the Year and the Tricon Award , an award that recognizes her outstanding career.

As expected, throughout the night the pop star surprised us with different costumes.

The first, with which she reached the red carpet, consisted of a silver dress with a very open fall. Although what stood out from that look was the sphere-shaped plastic mask that he wore.

Finally, it was time to enjoy the interpreter of "Poker Face" on stage, and what better in the company of Ariana Grande to sing the song "Rain on Me". Of course, at all times Gaga kept a healthy distance and always used a mask to protect herself.

For her spectacular return to the VMAs, Lady Gaga prepared a show worthy of such an important occasion. The singer continued with "Stupid Love" and showed her great talent, as she began by playing the melody on the piano.

In addition to receiving the Artist of the Year statuette, Lady Gaga once again took the stage to become the first winner in the history of the Tricon Award, an award that recognizes the artist's multifaceted work, encompassing her musical career, acting, her acts of philanthropy and its influence on fashion, among other things.

"This means a lot to me. It means more to me than you probably imagine," Gaga said at the beginning of her speech.

"I've been making music since I was a child and even though I had really, really big dreams, I could never have imagined that one day I would receive an award like this that honored me for many of my passions," she added.

"I want to share this award with everyone at home tonight, everyone at home is their own form of Tricon. I want you to think about three things that define who you are and take a moment to reward yourself for your bravery," he told his followers.

"This has not been an easy year for many people, but what I see in the world is a great triumph of courage."

"Just because we are apart right now, and our culture may feel less alive in some way, I know a renaissance is coming," he continued. "The wrath of pop culture will inspire you and the fury of art will empower you as you respond to difficulties with your generosity and love," he concluded.
