The Parisian “colleuses” have paid tribute to the women killed since the birth of their movement, a year ago.
They formed a "memorial" with the first names of 122 women killed in 2019 (according to a count by the collective "Feminicides by companions or ex").
Created by a handful of activists in Paris, these collages have grown throughout France and in a dozen other countries, from Israel to Mexico.
To date, at least 47 suspected feminicides have occurred since the start of 2020. According to the Interior Ministry, 146 women were killed in 2019 by their spouse or ex-companion.
