Corona Laboratory will be established within 45 days at Ben Gurion Airport, after Omega won a tender today (Monday) for its establishment. Those flying abroad will receive the result within four hours, so that passengers who receive a negative answer can leave the country without a problem to countries that agree to accept tourists who received a negative answer in the test.

The prices of the tests will vary from one to another, depending on the times of receiving the answers. A test with results obtained up to 14 hours will cost NIS 45, a test with faster results of up to four hours will cost NIS 134, a price significantly lower than what is accepted worldwide.

Thailand is one of the countries expected to allow tourists to enter it, if they come with negative corona checks. The country has recently started a pilot on the island of Phuket, and the expectation is that if it succeeds - it will expand to other areas of the country.

More than 90 companies signed up for the tender, but in the end only seven companies submitted official bids for it. It is expected that Omega will set up the laboratory before the end of the 45 days, but this is a relatively long time given to the company to get organized for the establishment of the array.

The company has pledged to issue "medical passports" that will be approved in all countries of the world. The laboratory will be set up in Arm E. The laboratory will serve those who arrive at Ben Gurion Airport about 72 hours before takeoff and those who enter can be tested in the reception hall at Terminal 3. The establishment of the laboratory will also allow the shortening of isolation for returnees from abroad. Omega will operate the laboratory for at least the next three years with the option of an additional two years, should a vaccine be found, the parties will be able to cancel the contract between them.
