Musician Ed Sheeran is known for keeping his private life to himself - but now the Briton has announced big news on Instagram: The 29-year-old and his wife Cherry Seaborn have become parents for the first time.
"Hello! A short message from me, as I have private news that I would like to share with you," wrote the musician.
"Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter - Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. We are totally in love with her. Both mom and baby are doing great."
He also posted a picture showing a colorful baby blanket and socks.
The baby is not on it.
Sheeran asks for privacy
At the same time, Sheeran appealed to his fans to respect the young family's privacy.

On Christmas Eve 2019, he announced that he wanted to take a break from his work and also from social media.
He didn't post anything until the current release.
At the time he wrote: "I've been on the road non-stop since 2017 and just take a little breath to travel, write and read."
The musician had already withdrawn from the public a few years ago and also undertook a trip around the world.
In March 2017 he returned with the album "Divide" and went on a world tour with it for two years.
In 2019 he released another album ("No. 6 Collaborations Project").
In the same year he announced that he had married his childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn.
