A 16-year-old woman accuses a group of men of raping her in a hotel in Eilat, Israel. Eleven suspects have now been charged - including minors.

After the alleged group rape of a 16-year-old girl in the coastal city of Eilat, charges have been brought against 11 suspects in Israel.

These are three adults and eight minors, said the prosecutor.

A 27-year-old and a 28-year-old and 17-year-old twins were charged with rape.

The other people are accused of aiding and abetting rape, sexual harassment and failure to provide assistance.

According to media reports, further charges are expected.

The young woman had accused a total of 30 men.

The incident at a hotel in Eilat had caused horror in Israel.

Two weeks ago there were spontaneous demonstrations in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other cities in support of young people and against sexual violence against women.

"No more control over their actions and their will"

According to the indictment, the 16-year-old came to the holiday town with two friends.

On August 12, they were sitting by the pool with acquaintances of one of the friends.

The two adult suspects were also there.

The 28-year-old wanted to go out with the 16-year-old, but she refused a date with the much older man.

Later the friends went to the hotel.

The 16-year-old drank a lot of alcohol there and was dazed, "in a state in which she no longer had any control over her actions and her will".

The two suspects had meanwhile broken into a room in the hotel.

The 28-year-old pretended to be a paramedic and said he could help the dazed youth.

In the room, the four main defendants then jointly raped the victim in an extremely brutal manner, the indictment said.

One of them filmed the crime on his cell phone.

The other defendants also stayed in the room, helped them and sexually abused the young people.

After her return from Eilat, the 16-year-old reported to the police.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the case "harrowing" and a "crime against humanity".

He called for tough action against the perpetrators.
