As in the last championship, Rome and Lazio will play the last match of the next both away, because the Olympic stadium, home of the opening match of the European Championship, will be unavailable from 18 May 2021, postponed for a year due to the coronavirus emergency.

It is one of the criteria that will be taken into account in compiling the calendar of the next Serie A championship, which will begin on the weekend of 20 September and end on Sunday 23 May 2021, with six midweek rounds (16 and 23 December, 6 January, 2 February, 21 April and 12 May) and three stops for the commitments of the national teams (on the weekends of 11 October, 15 November and 28 March).

The criteria for the calendar are essentially the same as last year, which will be revealed at 12 live on social media accounts, on the YouTube channel and on the Lega website.

It's time to unveil the new #SerieATIM 2020/2021.

It is not excluded that Serie A will open with some big matches.

In any case, it will not be a derby, because the derby are not possible either on the first or last day, nor in the midweek weekday shifts and take place on different days.

Absolute alternation of home and away matches is also foreseen for the teams of Genoa, Milan, Turin and those of the Capital, with the exception of the final round for Lazio and Rome.

Among other constraints, the one for which the first and last round will have to be completely different (regardless of the home / away order of the challenges) from those of the last two championships.

Furthermore, there can be no repeated match (same match on the same day, with the same home / away order) compared to the last championship calendar.

As always, there is a criterion for who plays the cups.

The teams involved in the Champions League (Atalanta, Inter, Juventus and Lazio) do not meet those participating in the Europa League (Naples, Milan and Rome) in the days between a round of the Europa League and a subsequent round of the Champions.
