41% of Italians believe that the wine tourism sector gives prestige to Made in Italy.
This is what emerges from a research by the Reale Mutua Observatory dedicated to agriculture and made official on the occasion of the harvest and in view of autumn.
The data of the study shows in particular that one in three interviewees (31%) believes that wine tourism supports the local economy, impacting significantly on the national one (23%).
It also emerges that almost one in four Italians (22%) declares that they are not interested in foreign wine tourism, at least until they have visited all the main destinations of the Belpaese. The analysis also shows that more than one in three Italians (42%) say that they are increasingly looking to websites and social media to learn about wine and organize wine tourism trips and excursions. Finally, confirming an established trend, it is announced that more than one in three Italians (38%) say they are interested in living an enotourist experience, visiting vineyards and cellars to discover the many winemaking excellences present on the national territory. It is emphasized that what pushes Italians towards wine tourism is, first of all, the possibility of living unique and satisfying experiences, "for example thanks to thematic itineraries (44%), together with the opportunity to research wines and particular productions (25%) and the curiosity to discover ever new and different production sites (19%) ".
