The audience in the Munich Opera Hall could feel like in the cinema.

Films flicker on stage, one after the other.

Lots of facial expressions, but no soundtrack.

In the days of the silent film there was usually a piano at an angle to the screen, a pianist hitting the keys, adding to the tension.

Here is a bed in the appropriate place.

A death bed with a dark haired woman in it.

Maids singing in front of it.

They want to bury the old-fashioned opera.

A musical theater that is younger and fresher should be resurrected.

In the musical project "7 Deaths of Maria Callas", dying works well, but resurrection doesn't.

The art and opera world has waited a long time for this premiere in the Bavarian State Opera.

Due to the pandemic, it was postponed from April to September.

The premiere was on Tuesday, and there was great interest, but many of the 2,100 seats had to remain free.

The Ministry of Art originally wanted to allow 200 spectators, but increased it to 500 at short notice.
