Milan is ready to formalize the candidacy to host the Nations League 2021 finals. The City Council has in fact approved the presentation of the Host City Authority Undertaking, in order to formalize the candidacy. The Nations League of UEFA is the most important football tournament in Europe for national teams affiliated to UEFA after the European Championship: "An event with a strong media and economic impact for the city - as underlined by a note from the Municipality - which in 2016 has already successfully hosted the Champions League final ". The tournament is held every two years and that of 2021 will be the second edition: the finals will take place between the months of September and October. The Milan candidacy proposal dossier, drawn up in collaboration with the FIGC, will be delivered to Uefa by 16 September 2020.
