(ANSA) - ROME, 08 SEPT - Shock and indignation in South Africa for the killing by two policemen of a 16 year old with Down syndrome.
The murder took place last August 26 but after the arrest of the two agents on charges of having shot him, the anger in the country has grown and now the boy's family is calling for justice.
Nathaniel Julies, according to the reconstruction of the BBC, was eating a biscuit near his house in the suburb of Eldorado Park, south of Johannesburg, when he was killed "in cold blood".
The police denied the allegations, replying that the 16-year-old was the victim of a shooting between criminal gangs, but the explanation did not appease the indignation of the people - family and not - who took to the streets demanding the sentencing of agents, Simon Ndyalvana and Caylene Whiteboy.
The two appeared in the Soweto court and will remain jailed until sentencing.
The hearing was attended by dozens of people with 'Justice for Nathaniel' signs.
