In a video interview for Skuola.net, the Minister of Education Lucia Azzolina answers the students' frequently asked questions about the start of the school year: from masks to staggered entrances, up to the time of physical education and the confirmation of the PCTOs (ex alternation between school and work).
Here, then, is how the school will start again.
Possible staggered admissions but no 'bell' at 7 in the morning, masks not always mandatory and provided by the school, no quarantine obligation for the whole institution in the event of a positive Covid student, resumption of PCTOs (the Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation, the old school-work alternation).
A few days after the return of most of the Italian students to the desks (set for September 14), the Minister of Education, Lucia Azzolina, wanted to speak directly to the students.
It did so by answering the many questions that the Skuola.net portal has collected within its community in the run-up to back to school.
One of the things students are wondering the most about is the actual time to enter the classroom.
"Schools could provide for staggered entrances to avoid gatherings but - the minister reassures - I want to deny a fake news that is circulating: no one has ever said that school will be entered at seven in the morning".
Even on the masks, the institutions will have a certain autonomy: “It is an important protection tool - underlines Azzolina - and must be worn when entering and leaving school and in any movement situation.
But when you sit down and there is the famous meter away you can go down ”.
Masks which, the Minister reiterates, "will be distributed free of charge by schools".
But among the curiosities of the students there are not only the anti-Covid rules.
Many want to know if, after the forced stop at the beginning of the emergency, the PCTOs (new name of the school-work alternation) will resume: "They will be done - assures Azzolina - and the same safety measures will apply to these routes. apply in all other workplaces ".
Just as the form that the so-called Integrated Digital Didactics will take, heir to the distance learning experimented during the lockdown, is arousing interest: "This summer - says the Minister - we have written guidelines so that each school prepares a plan for teaching digital".
Is this because schools, in the event of a pupil being positive, will be forced to close?
"There will be no automatic quarantine obligation for everyone - clarifies Azzolina - it will be the ASL to decide case by case".
Finally, entering the heart of the school day, the head of the MI explained how some important moments will take place.
Starting with recreation.
Here, too, "each school will determine the best way to carry it out, but there will be common rules to be respected for the safety of all: avoid crowds and use a mask when on the move".
The same applies to the physical education hour: “Certainly it will be done - reiterates Azzolina - the mask will not be used but a distance of at least two meters will have to be respected and, where possible, schools will try to carry out outdoor activities;
otherwise the gyms will be used ”.
On the other hand, as regards the practical lessons and workshops, “everything will be as usual”;
obviously observing the safety rules described.
