Coronavirus in Argentina: 278 deaths and another 12,027 positive cases reported

The province of Buenos Aires once again reported the highest number of cases of the day, confirming 6,909.

Meanwhile, the City of Buenos Aires reported 1,300 infected and reached 105,309.


In its morning part, the health portfolio had confirmed the death of 50 people (31 men and 19 women), of which 29 resided in the Province, eleven in Mendoza, five in the City of Buenos Aires, two in Chaco and one in Entre Ríos , Santa Fe and Neuquén.

The fatality rate for confirmed cases is 2.1 and the specific mortality rate is 223 people per million inhabitants, with a mean age of 72.2 years.

Referring to the situation of the health system, the official warned that Río Negro has an occupancy rate of the so-called critical beds of 81% "with significant tension in the department of General Roca."

The same percentage and level of tension have Jujuy, "with a focus on several departments and mainly in the capital" and Tucumán, while Salta and Mendoza have 75%.
