(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 09 - The Greek government has declared a state of emergency for 4 months on the island of Lesbos after the devastating fire that broke out due to causes yet to be ascertained in the migrant camp of Moria which housed 13 thousand migrants. Government spokesman Stelios Petsas announced the decision following an emergency meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. With the state of emergency, Athens sent all forces, including police, firefighters and other public workers to support the island and asylum seekers. The flames, which broke out in the night, destroyed the health center and large residential areas.
Miraculously, there are no victims. (HANDLE).
