It's an unreleased album and dates back to when pop superstar Ed Sheeran was a teenager.
Now the CD has been auctioned for 50,000 British pounds (around 55,000 euros).
"An incredible price," said auctioneer Paul Fairweather after the auction in England on Tuesday.
"We expected it would sell well, but that definitely exceeded our expectations."
According to the musician, only 20 copies of the album "Spinning Man", which the British singer is said to have written at the age of 13, exist - and they were actually not intended for the public.
Sheeran owns 19 of the 20 copies
In his book "A Visual Journey" the 29-year-old tells the story of this album: he wrote it after his first love broke his heart.
He himself owns 19 of the 20 existing copies and doesn't want anyone else to get their hands on the album.
However, he gave a copy to a friend of relatives years ago.
After the CD was almost forgotten in a drawer for years, the friend's brother is said to have auctioned the album.
The PA news agency reports.
Sheeran recently announced the birth of his daughter.
The little one is called Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.
"We are totally in love with her. Both mom and baby are doing great," wrote the musician.
Sheeran released his last album ("No. 6 Collaborations Project") in 2019.
In the same year he announced that he had married his childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn.
