(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 09 - On the coronavirus vaccine, "Countries cannot take shortcuts". It is the warning from the WHO that AstraZeneca has suspended all clinical trials on the antidote against Covid-19 that it is experimenting with the University of Oxford.
"Just because we talk about the speed and scale of the operation doesn't mean we'll start compromising security or taking shortcuts," said Soumya Swaminathan, one of WHO's leading researchers, according to the BBC. "The procedure has to follow the rules of the game. Medicines and vaccines that will have to be distributed to the population must be tested for their safety. This is the first and most important rule," he said. (HANDLE).
