of e-bikes revealed devastating safety deficiencies at several brands, the manufacturers have now drawn the necessary conclusions.
The companies Kettler Alu-Rad and Hercules are recalling five models from their
e-bike range
.
ADAC also reported on the recall.

manufacturers advise that the bikes affected
by the
recall
should no longer be used.
According to ADAC, there is a risk that a component could become detached from the bike while driving.
Recall for e-bikes: ADAC warns of front fork falling off
The reason for the
recall
is a single component.
During the
ADAC
test
, the front fork of an e-bike broke.

Doing so could cause dangerous falls and injuries.
"A fork breakage while driving can have
serious consequences
," says Dr.
Reinhard Kolke, Head of Test and Technology at ADAC.
All five models from the two manufacturers Hercules and Kettler have installed the same bicycle fork.

E-bike recall: Customers should have their fork replaced
“As part of our product monitoring, it was found that the front wheel forks of the models mentioned can bend or even break,” writes Kettler in the press release of the recall, pointing out that this could also happen while driving.
The expert advises customers to have the defective fork replaced immediately.
Until then, the owners should
leave
the
e-bike
behind and not use it.
"This also applies in the event that you do not notice any abnormalities on the fork," emphasized the press release.

Netherlands

Switzerland
Recall for e-bikes: owners should contact their specialist retailer
Hercules and Kettler will exchange the fork for owners free of charge.
Kettler recommends contacting a specialist dealer who is a specialist trade partner of Kettler Alu Rad.
The fork will also be replaced if the
bicycle
is not damaged.
The same applies to owners of a
Hercules
e-bike
, as the manufacturer
