American wins in comeback against Bulgarian Pironkova (ANSA)Serena Williams reaches the semifinals of the US Open for the 13th time in her career. The American beat Tsvetana Pironkova 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in a comeback. The Bulgarian won the first set but then gave up. In the semifinals the American will face the winner of the quarter final between Viktoria Azarenka and Elise Mertens.

Serena Williams reaches the semifinals of the US Open for the 13th time in her career.
