The Minister of Health told Gali Tzahal that he does not see any other steps in the current situation that can be taken • Edelstein and senior officials of his ministry will present the outlines for the holiday period today

Just before presenting to the Corona Cabinet the outlines of restrictions for the holiday season, Health Minister Yuli (Joel) Edelstein said this morning (Thursday) in an interview with Gali Tzahal that he finds it difficult to show a situation where a general lockout is avoided. And I can take action to avoid a general closure. "

"Three months ago, I stepped into the position and said, 'If we are not okay, we will be closed.' Unfortunately, I was right," Edshtein added.

Edelstein further referred to the peace agreement with the United Arab Emirates, saying that despite the agreement the main effort of the state should be around the war in Corona.

"I do not underestimate the importance of the agreement with the Emirates. But I think these days we very, very much need to be focused on the issue of dealing with the corona crisis. I believe Netanyahu will reduce travel to the minimum possible."

As mentioned, Edelstein will present today to the Corona Cabinet, together with the director of his office, Prof. Hezi Levy, and the Corona's commissioner, Prof. Roni Gamzo, a number of recommendations for outlines of severe restrictions that will be imposed throughout the country during the holidays. Until a permanent closure for the entire holiday period, Edelstein and Levy support the more restrictive alternatives.

A moderate recommendation that has been formulated has been dubbed a “tightened traffic light,” and it includes a curfew on the eve of the holiday and on the holidays themselves.

According to this proposal, first- to fourth-grade studies will be allowed throughout the period in cities that are not defined as "red," and places of entertainment will be opened under restrictions on gatherings.

The public sector will work in an emergency format in all outlines, jobs without public reception will also remain open, and prayers will be possible according to a "red" outline (10 worshipers inside the chapels and 20 outside) or "orange" (20 inside and 50 outside).

Another alternative that has been proposed is called "measured restraint", and it also includes a curfew on the eve of the holidays and on holidays throughout the country, along with a "night curfew" starting at 5:00 PM on restaurants and places of leisure and entertainment.

Gatherings and prayers will be allowed according to the restrictions of "red" cities.
