The verified rate stands at 8.6% in 27,645 tests.

Yesterday the percentage of carriers was 9.2 in 43,688 tests.

Also, 977 corona patients are hospitalized in the hospitals, among them 488 in critical condition, 143 respirators, and 181 whose condition is defined as moderate.

The number of patients in critical condition was slightly reduced, after 494 patients were reported yesterday, and on Tuesday the number was 468.

In Jerusalem there are 4,299 active patients, in Bnei Brak - 1,974, in Ashdod - 1,350, and in Beit Shemesh - 971. 959 active patients were reported in Modi'in Illit, in Tel Aviv - Jaffa - 873, and in Lod - 215.

The corona wards in the hospitals have a high occupancy rate.

Maayan Hayeshua, Shaare Zedek and Rambam hospitals reported more than 100% occupancy. In addition, the ministry updates that 3,065 health staff members are in isolation: 427 doctors, 887 nurses, and 1,751 in other professions.

2,400 students and 1,148 teaching staff fell ill in Corona

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education updated that about 40,000 students are currently in isolation, and following the spread of the corona, another 48 schools and 257 kindergartens were closed today.

Also, 2,400 students and 1,148 teaching staff were diagnosed with corona blue.

At this point the corona cabinet is discussing steps to curb the spread of the corona.

The parties participating in the meeting expressed support for a full or almost full closure, with the exception of Finance Minister Israel Katz.

According to the spirit of the discussion, the closure will be according to scenario D, ie the most rigid.

The health system has suggested that the closure begin this coming Tuesday.

Earlier today, Corona Commissioner Prof. Roni Gamzo presented to the Corona Cabinet his recommendations for restrictions during the holiday season and the period thereafter.

According to the outline, for four weeks during the holiday period, from September 15 to October 12, "tightened restraint" will apply to the economy in order to lower the morbidity data.

Prof. Gamzo also proposed an outline for the period after the holidays, during which a partial restraint will apply to the economy in order to reduce the number of infected to 600 per day.

According to this outline, gatherings will be limited according to the orange color, the education system will only work for students up to fourth grade, and from fifth grade and up will study remotely.

In addition, leisure, leisure centers and restaurants will be closed from 17:00.

As for work, no restriction will be imposed, except in places that include an audience restriction.

However, the office encourages work from home in order to reduce the number of occupants in the space.

In an update given by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a meeting of the Corona Cabinet, he said: "Prof. Gamzo and the heads of the hospitals came to the Corona Cabinet today and waved a red flag. Treat them and there will be many seriously ill and many dead.

"They say we need to take action - but we need to take action in no uncertain terms, not to take it recklessly, so it takes many hours, and on the other hand to get it early enough so that we can all get organized for the holidays, Yom Kippur and before that of course for Rosh Hashanah. A solution that will stop the disease and allow us to get out of the restrictions in a gradual and responsible manner. "
