(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 11 - How many Sicelan stories ever told in the life of mothers?

How many of them have been and are protagonists of surprising and unexpected stories?

How much do children know about their mother's life?

"Tuttosu mia madre", the new docu-reality produced by Stand By Me for Rai3, broadcast from 14 September at 20.25 - from Monday to Friday for six weeks - tells the ordinary and at the same time extraordinary lives of Italian mothers, returning an exciting and surprising portrait of what has always been the fundamental figure in everyone's life and the backbone on which our society is based: the mother.

But not only: it also offers a reflection on the condition of women in our country, on how the role of women has changed, on how many steps forward have been made towards gender equality and how much still remains to be done.

In the foreground thirty women of different ages, backgrounds, origins, characters and social backgrounds.

Former sportsmen, activists, entrepreneurs, housewives, women who escaped Nazi persecution or who have had to face serious health problems of their child.

Each of them, from the first woman with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering to the fisherwoman of Procida who is divided between boat and family, guards a life of joys and sacrifices: gestures of "daily heroism", difficulties to overcome, adventures, courageous choices.

And it is the children themselves who discover the surprising past and present life of mothers, who thus retrace their path as a woman through the eyes of their son.

The story of Monday 14 September is that of Vania and MariaGiulia (Bologna).

Vania is the daughter of a PCI militant who decides to name her in honor of a Russian soldier.

She is a convinced feminist, about sixty-eight, who however proved to be very apprehensive and protective of her daughter, MariaGiulia.

Her worries grow when she decides to leave a stable job to run a bar.

Precisely because of the maternal anxieties, the two undergo a separation, only to reconnect in a moment that is very difficult for both.
