More than 10,000 daycare centers and day care workers have registered in a daycare center to research the corona conditions in childcare.
This was announced by the German Youth Institute (DJI).
In the first round, educators should indicate on a scale from 1 (easy) to 6 (difficult) how difficult it is for them to ensure needs-based care.
The result: an average of 2.3.
According to the information, the survey took place between August 11 and September 3, around 6,800 daycare centers and day care centers across Germany took part.
Less than one percent of those surveyed reported group or daycare closings due to corona cases or suspected cases.
About two percent of the skilled workers initially no longer worked with children's groups due to Corona.
Another two percent could not do their job at the moment, it said.
Since August 11, childcare facilities and child minders have been able to register on the Internet portal in order to then take part in regular surveys on the incidence of infections and the capacities in their facility.
The "Corona Kita Study", which has been ongoing since the daycare centers were gradually reopened, is to be supported with the Kita Register.
This is financed by the Ministry of Family and Health and implemented by the German Youth Institute and the Robert Koch Institute.
The study investigates the role of children in the infection process.
