Coronavirus in Argentina: 241 new deaths and another 11,507 positive cases reported

The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Friday

241 new deaths and another 11,507 positive cases

of coronavirus throughout the country.

Most of the fatalities and infections were registered in the province of Buenos Aires.


In its morning part, the health portfolio had confirmed the death of 87 people (54 men and 33 women), of which 41 resided in the province of Buenos Aires, 37 in the City of Buenos Aires, three in Mendoza, two in Santa Fe and one in Chaco, Jujuy, Río Negro and Salta.


The fatality rate for confirmed cases remains at 2.1%, while the mortality rate is 240 people per million inhabitants.

on Thursday

The indicator that measures the number of positives on tests performed was located at 46.7% at the national level, 35% in the City of Buenos Aires and 46% in the province of Buenos Aires.


Since the beginning of the outbreak, 1,513,847 diagnostic tests for this disease have been performed, which is equivalent to 33,361.7 samples per million inhabitants.

Meanwhile,

400,121 people managed to overcome the disease

and have already been discharged.

On a positive note, the health authority reported that the province of

La Pampa was

able to interrupt community transmission of the virus in Santa Rosa, Catriló and Macachín.


Thus, the areas that register this type of viral transmission fall to 17 and work is being done to contain outbreaks per cluster in San Luis, San Juan and Córdoba to avoid being classified as areas of community contagion.

In any case, the Secretary for Access to Health,

Carla Vizzotti,

again warned that “tension is being experienced in the Río Negro health system in the department of General Roca, in Río Gallegos, Santa Cruz;

in the Greater Mendoza;

in the Great Rosary;

in Oran and Tartagal in Salta;

and in the city of Jujuy and its urban agglomeration ".
