Trust your gut feeling when it comes to nutrition?

Unfortunately, many people have forgotten that.

We prefer to rely on calorie tables and expert recommendations, or we have switched to autopilot mode, which means: We eat what we are used to.

Which is not the same as "what is good for us".

Therefore it is important to learn as a first step to pay attention to your own body signals in everyday life and to control eating behavior with the help of hunger or satiety.

Therefore, you will first find a basic exercise here with which you can learn to consciously perceive simple body signals again.

Take care of your heart

Sit relaxed in a chair or armchair and try to feel your heartbeat.

Track the beats in the chest, the frequency, the strength, the quality.

Count the heartbeats for one minute.

Most manage to focus more on their heart as they practice.

Repeat this short, meditative unit several times a day and on several days during this week.

Reflect on whether something is changing little by little and you can hear the heartbeat better, or whether everything stays as it is.

The exercise trains the perception of one's own feelings of hunger: Studies by the biopsychologist Beate Herbert have shown that people who can perceive internal signals such as the heartbeat more clearly feel when they need something to eat and when they are full.

So train this more sensitive self-awareness every now and then!
