(ANSA) - VENICE, 11 SEPTEMBER - Paolo Conte is "a landscape writer", his songs are "cinematographic" in many ways.
The film 'Paolo Conte - Via con me' by Giorgio Verdelli, premiered in Venice 77 and in 270 rooms with Nexo digital as an event on 28, 29 and 30 September, is just that: a story of the great artist from Asti through his songs, the story of their birth, mixed with the films of the concerts and the voices of many colleagues who share the love for music - from Renzo Arbore to Vinicio Capossela - and of the many who have met him and continue to be close to him, first of all Roberto Benigni for whom Conte wrote the soundtrack of the first film You disturb me.
"A celebration? Celebrations don't belong to me so much, I don't love them, but here there is cinema and it's something that has always been congenial to me", he said in an interview with ANSA.
Paolo Conte, who is 83 years old, on the advice of the doctor for precautionary reasons had to give up coming to the Film Festival and his absence certainly weighs (not even a zoom connection) and so to accompany Verdelli's film, with the producer, is Rita Allevato, the his agent for 41 years.
"Paolonon likes to appear, I had to convince him to accept this film, explaining that we would have disturbed him as little as possible. Hadetto yes and this will be one of the documents that will end up in the Paolo Conte Foundation - he explains announcing the initiative - we are opening and that it will have a cultural and charitable purpose" .
In Paolo Conte - Via con me there are 35 musical pieces, impossible to name them all from Azzurro, A lemon ice cream, Topolino amaranth etc etc, and the essence of his music and the powerful charm he emanates.
The film includes, among others, Francesco De Gregori himself, his brother Giorgio, Caterina Caselli, Stefano Bollani, Pupi Avati ("I've always hated him, women are all crazy about him", he jokes), Luca Zingaretti, RenzoArbore, Vincenzo Mollica, Isabella Rossellini, Guido Harari, Cristiano Godano, Giovanni Veronesi, Lorenzo Jovanotti, JaneBirkin, Patrice Leconte, Peppe Servillo.
