Stiftung Warentest: Inexpensive models score with their economical energy consumption
In addition to the positive development that many inexpensive dryer models score points with their economical energy consumption, the research by Stiftung Warentest also revealed some disadvantages of individual
tumble dryers
.
According to consumer experts, many devices are misleading with the display of the remaining time.
High power consumption makes some tumble dryers twice as expensive as others.
Calculated over ten years, the purchase price will add between 490 and 700 euros for the electricity.
Also among the cheap ones are some with low power consumption.

Some
dryer
models from Siemens, Bosch and Constructa are ready almost 40 minutes earlier than they indicate, and when the machine is half loaded it is even over 80 minutes.
But the opposite is also the case: “If the full AEG shows about 10 minutes, it needs 23 minutes, Sharp even 47 minutes.
Nobody needs such advertisements, ”write the experts from
Stiftung Warentest
in a recent article in the consumer
magazine
.
According to Stiftung Warentest, other disadvantages included stiff doors on a model from Samsung and inadequate brief instructions for a tumble dryer from Sharp.

Stiftung Warentest: Customers should consider a few points
According to
Stiftung Warentest
, if you want to buy
a new
tumble dryer
, you should
consider a few points.
Above all, consumer experts advise against spontaneous purchases.
Customers should select the device according to their personal needs and compare the consumption values of different tumble dryers with one another before buying.
According to Stiftung Warentest, the volume of the
tumble dryer should
also be taken into account
.
While the noise from the device is less disturbing in the basement, the noise level in the kitchen or bathroom can appear annoying.
In addition, consumers should pay attention to the drying time of the individual programs of the new device, because every minute of savings in the program run can often be helpful.
The experts at
Stiftung Warentest also
advise you to check the individual basic programs of the tumble dryer carefully and to weigh up which additional special programs are actually required before buying.
When choosing the extras, the experts rated the start time preselection and the display of the remaining time as positive.
