What happened to a family in Mendoza was as distressing as it was incredible.

A woman, who entered a sanatorium in the provincial capital and later isolated by coronavirus with severe chest pain, was left

for dead

and handed over to her family to be

buried

, but finally - and just hours after the burial - it was found that

she was alive

.

It all started at the beginning of September, when

María Dora Garro

visited her family doctor at the

Santa María clinic

(it remains at Federico Moreno 1519).

At that time, the

71-year-old

woman was

suffering from severe back pain.

After being examined, she was medicated and sent home.

On Monday, September 7, he returned to the health center with another intense pain, although this time it was in his chest.

"They left her hospitalized and diagnosed

with pneumonia,

" said her granddaughter, Shirley Hernández.

That was the last time her loved ones saw her.

Sitting.

María Dora received one of her children at the hospital.

It was not dead.

The story took a turn as dramatic as it was unexpected in the early hours of Thursday the 10th, when the clinic contacted María Dora's family by phone to report

her death

.

Only three days had passed since she had entered the sanitarium.

"They called us at 1.30 am with the news that my grandmother had passed away.

Her death certificate stated that it was due to COVID-19

, among others," said Hernández, who made the story viral through social networks.

"With all the pain of the soul and suffering the trauma and pain of that situation, we buried her that same day at 15:30," he added.

Indeed, the document that certifies the alleged death of María Dora - and that after receiving her relatives showed on Facebook - accounts for the pathologies: "

Acute respiratory distress syndrome

", "

viral pneumonia

" and "

coronavirus disease

- pending result confirmation, "he says.

Death certificate.

The relatives signed the death certificate of María Dora without knowing that she was alive.

The concrete thing is that, due to health protocols, the wake of people who die during the pandemic is not allowed.

And the delivery of his remains is carried out

in a closed drawer

.

In this context, the woman's loved ones carried out the

burial in the cemetery

.

"We couldn't see who they kept in the drawer. Due to the COVID-19 issue, they didn't let us get close," said Beatriz Leguizamón, another of the granddaughters.

Hours later, nervousness, disbelief and stupor took over the whole family because after noon this Friday from the same health center they called to warn that

the grandmother was alive

and waiting to be picked up.

Amazing.

“They told us that she

was alive and asking for her children

.

My uncle went with extreme urgency to recognize if it was so.

Indeed and thank God, my grandmother lives ”, Shirley explained.

After supposedly burying the grandmother, the relatives verified that she was alive in the hospital.

The questions that were opened after the family itself confirmed the

very serious error

of the health center were - and are - many.

The main one has to do with

who is the person who was buried

and how and why this whole situation came to be.

"

No manager

or manager appeared. The doctor who made the certificate,

Julián Sergio Castro

, says it was not bad will, he asks us for forgiveness and that we understand them,

that they were wrong

. They do not give proper explanations, they do not know the moral damage that they did, "Leguizamón said on Saturday morning in dialogue with TN.

And he added: "

They do not want to give us information about the person we buried

. Castro says he was wrong because the other lady was lost.

They have no respect for the human being

. We want to offer condolences to the family of whom we buried. It is incredible that this has happened. "

Anguish.

Beatriz Leguizamón told what they told her at the Santa María clinic.

The

reunion between María Dora and her son,

who as soon as he found out about the novelty went to look for her at the clinic was, to say the least, surprising.

The man, for security reasons, had to enter the room where his mother was with a full bodysuit, his face covered and

holding the urge to hug her

.

"

What are you doing, old lady !?

", Ariel slipped when she found

her mother standing next to one of the tables

, wearing a chinstrap and in apparent good health, trying to approach him even without being able to recognize him, initially, by the suit he was wearing.

Very recently, he had fired her in a cemetery.

After sitting down in a chair, the woman said: "I came here, but I can't go out. Now

I would have to be at home

."

"My grandmother is a patient at risk because she has diabetes and they

put her as a suspected case of COVID-19

when her

swab was negative

. We do not want her to stay here, but we cannot transfer her to another place because everything is collapsed," concluded Leguizamón.
