(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 13 - The Venice Film Festival closed yesterday, the Venice Biennale opens on September 14 the 48th International Theater Festival (September 14-24), directed by Antonio Latella.
And it is to the poetic word of Mariangela Gualtieri, to her writing that celebrates nature and invites the community of the public to listen, that the inauguration is entrusted to the Teatro Goldoni (4.00 pm).
"Voice that opens" - with almost entirely unpublished texts - is one of the precious sound rites of Mariangela Gualtieri, "forced to change its sign in the suspended time of the pandemic", as the poetess declares, whom everyone has learned to know since March 9th two thousand.
Gualtieri's verse is immersed in the visual atmosphere of director Cesare Ronconi, a traveling companion in the Valdoca Theater, which marked the renewal of the Italian scene in the 1980s.
September 14 is also the day of the Theater Lions, which sees the winners - at 12.00 in the Arena dei Giardini - FrancoVisioli, musician and sound designer, with the Golden Lion for career, and Alessio Maria Romano, pedagogue, ecoreographer, with the Silver Lion.
"The Lions given in recent years - says Latella - have been fundamental to reinforce the themes chosen in programming. So, also in 2020, artists who give and do a lot for the theater are rewarded, but they often remain in the background".
Both winners present two world premieres at the Biennale, equally inspired by the theme of censorship chosen for the Festival: bye Bye by Alessio Maria Romano will be staged at the Teatro alle Tese (at 6.30 pm) and at the Tese dei Soppalchi (at 9.30 pm) Ultima latet, which sees Franco Visioli try his hand at directing for the first time.
