The Ministry of Health announced tonight (Wednesday) that at midnight 2,547 new verified infections had been diagnosed with the corona virus.
The number of active patients in the country now stands at 45,145.
A total of 166,794 Israelis have been infected in Corona since the beginning of the plague.

1,165 corona patients are hospitalized in the hospitals, with the condition of 551 being severely defined, of whom 137 are respirators.
At midnight, another 11 people died as a result of the virus' complications, bringing the death toll to 1,163.
However, since the Ministry of Health's latest update this morning, there have been an increase of 16 more dead.
It was also reported that at midnight, 33,388 tests were performed to detect the virus, about 8% of which were found to be positive.

Earlier today, a report was published by the Corona National Information and Knowledge Center, which indicated that the virus was spreading throughout the country - and not just among the ultra-Orthodox and Arabs.
They added in the report that the significant increase in the number of serious patients in the last two weeks (about 24%) is another measure of the spread of the disease and produces a great burden on the health system.
As for the increase in the number of tests, the report wrote that along with the high number of tests, the positive percentage remained around 10%. This means that it is clear that there was indeed an increase in morbidity, and it is not an increase in heart disease.
