A woman kept a McDonald's hamburger and french fries menu in a box for over 24 years.
A video reveals what fast food looks like today.
American user Aly Sherb recently published a video on the
TikTok
*
video platform
with the title "What happens when you leave a McDonald's hamburger in a bag for over 20 years?" Keeps hamburgers in a bag for more than 20 years?).
You can see her grandmother opening an old shoebox.
The content: a
burger and a bag of fries from McDonald's
- from 1996!
Grandmother had kept the food in it for all this time.
To prove it, she first points to the packaging, on which an advertisement for NASCAR (US American Motorsport Association) can be seen from the same year.

McDonald's burger after over 20 years
The fast food is still in its original packaging, just like McDonald's packaging is known today.
And then comes the big reveal: what do burgers and french fries look like after all these years?
The surprising result: Neither the french fries nor the hamburger are
moldy
, rotten or look in any way as if they had been stored for 24 years.
The grandmother herself comments that the fries look more like they are about a month old.
The burger, also still in its original packaging, looks fine considering its age.
But of course you shouldn't eat these products anymore.
Experiment: McDonald's menu kept for over 20 years
The question that remains is why Aly's grandmother kept the burger and fries in a shoebox for so long.
The answer is instructive: it was a
scientific experiment with students
because grandma was a teacher.
It was about the consequences of preservatives.
As you can see, they preserved McDonald's products for a long time and thus protected them from mold and decomposition.
So the McDonald's shoebox is a somewhat different kind of time capsule. Aly Sherb's TikTok video has been viewed nearly four million times so far.
