Barack Obama publishes his memoirs - after the US presidential election

Almost four years after his departure from the White House, the former US President Barack Obama plans to publish the first volume of his memoirs: "A Promised Land" will appear on November 17th, two weeks after this year's US election.

The publisher Penguin Random House announced on Thursday.

In addition to the English version, the book will appear in 24 other languages ​​that day, including German.

As the German Penguin Verlag announced, the book will be published under the title "A Promised Land" and the retail price will be 42 euros.

Obama wrote on Twitter that he wanted to draw an honest balance of his presidency at the plant.

In addition, he shed light on the forces with which the USA ranks as a nation, how the divisions can be healed and democracy can work for everyone.

"There is no better feeling than finishing a book, and I'm proud of this one," he continued.

The release date for the sequel has not yet been set

The publication date for the second and final volume of the memoirs has not yet been set and will be announced at a later date, the publisher said.

Obama's wife Michelle's memoir, "Becoming," appeared in US bookshops in 2018 and became bestsellers around the world.
