Almost six months after the start of the quarantine, the Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Thursday that there are 12,701 new positives in the country, while 345 deaths were registered in the last 24 hours.

The numbers indicate a new record for both infected and dead for a day.

With these records, there are 601,713 positives in the country since the pandemic began and the number of deceased people is 12,460.


An important fact is that since Wednesday Argentina surpassed Chile in the number of deaths and is ranked 14 in the world ranking.

The province of Buenos Aires, with 6,319 positives and 49.7 percent of the total, came in first place.

Then Santa Fe (1,362), which for the third consecutive day surpassed the City of Buenos Aires (1,156).


During the morning report the death of 113 people was reported.

65 men: 28 residents in the province of Buenos Aires, 6 in the City, 1 in Chaco, 1 resident in the province of Córdoba, 8 in Jujuy, 5 in La Rioja, 1 in Mendoza, 5 in Neuquén, 2 residents in Salta , 3 in Santa Fe, 1 in Santiago del Estero, 1 in Tierra del Fuego and 3 in Tucumán;

and 48 women: 34 residents in the province of Buenos Aires, 1 in the City, 1 in Chubut, 3 in Jujuy, 1 in Mendoza, 2 residents in the province of Neuquén, 2 in Río Negro, 2 in Santa Fe and 2 in Tucumán.

In the afternoon, 232 new deaths were reported.

Divided into 136 men: 87 from Buenos Aires;

10 of CABA;

2 from Chaco;

4 from Córdoba;

4 from Entre Ríos;

4 from Jujuy;

1 from La Rioja;

3 from Mendoza;

2 from Río Negro;

5 from Salta;

3 from Santa Cruz;

8 from Santa Fe;

1 of Santiago del Estero;

2 from Tucumán.

And 96 women;

65 Buenos Aires;

7 of CABA;

2 from Córdoba: 1 from Entre Ríos;

7 from Jujuy;

2 from Río Negro;

The numbers this Thursday indicated two new records: both for the number of infected, and for the deceased.

On September 9, 12,259 positives had been reported, while August 24 was the day with the highest deaths (328). 

The fatality rate of the virus remains at 2.1% and the specific mortality is 267 people per million inhabitants, with an average age of 73 years.

Currently there are 3,108 people with a confirmed diagnosis of covid-19 who require care in intensive care units.

The occupancy level of the so-called critical beds is 60.1% throughout the country and rises to 67.3% in the AMBA.

Currently, the provinces with the greatest tension in the health system are Río Negro, which has an 87% bed occupancy, Salta 83% and Neuquén 76%.

They are followed by Jujuy and Tucumán, which have 75% of their intensive therapy beds occupied, the City of Buenos Aires 72% and Santa Fe 70%.

The breakdown of the number of people admitted to the ICU shows that there are "1,481 cases in the province of Buenos Aires, 500 cases in Córdoba, 269 in the City of Buenos Aires, 113 in Santa Fe, 104 in Mendoza, 94 in Tucumán, 93 in Neuquén, 101 in La Rioja, 87 in Río Negro and 99 in Salta ".

In addition, the Secretary of Access to Health, Carla Vizzotti, specified that in addition to the provincial percentages, there continue to be sources of great tension in the health systems of some districts such as the department of General Roca, in Río Negro, of Oran, in Salta , among others.
