(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, SEPTEMBER 17 - The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has recommended stringent limits for the group of the main perfluoroalkyl substances (Pfas) that can be assimilated through drinking water and food.

For the first time, Efsa has assessed the health risk of the mixture of the four most common Pfas, setting the new tolerable weekly dose at 4.4 ng / kg body weight per week.

The most critical effect examined by the experts was the decreased immune response to vaccinations.
