El Al announced today (Thursday) that it is preparing for a gradual return of cargo flights starting on September 21 and passenger flights starting on October 1.

The announcement comes against the backdrop of the acquisition of 43% of the company's shares by businessman Eli Rosenberg.

These are passenger flights to a limited number of destinations in the United States and Europe and cargo flights to destinations in the Far East, when from September 21 the company will resume cargo flights on the company's planes to Shanghai, Bombay and Hong Kong and also operate charter flights as needed.

Starting October 1, the company will operate regular passenger flights to Athens.

In addition, Sun Dor from El Al will offer charter flights to a number of destinations in Greece and Croatia, through selected tourism wholesalers in Israel.

Starting on October 12, El Al will resume operations to its flagship destinations - New York, London and Paris.

Flights to these destinations will be operated on the company's Dreamliner aircraft, which will offer three service classes: economy, premium and business (subject to change).

The company stated: "El Al operates in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Blue Badge. Entry into Israel is possible only for Israeli passport holders, in accordance with government guidelines. For more details and updates, contact the Ministry of Health website."
