Fiac 2020: the anger of gallery owners after the cancellation

DECRYPTION - Between disappointment, spite and philosophy, the French market reacts to the cancellation of this historic fair. What prospects does it leave to private galleries with international showcase?


Since 1974, Paris has been sold thanks to its International Contemporary Art Fair.

In 2006, the Fiac left the Porte de Versailles to return to the heart of the capital and land, as queen, under the dome of the Grand Palais.

The Fiac will not leave its mark in this year 2020, a strong historical landmark with the global Covid-19 crisis.

The announcement of this cancellation was beyond reason, leaving all hypotheses to hover until Monday evening September 14.

Paris can't exist without America?

The Fiac must be the image of what it has been for several years, namely a high-level international fair, with exhibitors and collectors from all countries.
