(ANSA) - GENOA, 17 SEPT - The Aquarium of Genoa welcomes a new guest, a rare specimen of yellow lobster.
The crustacean was caught in the waters of the English Channel in late July and was intended for human consumption.
NunzioFranza, sociologist and manager of some restaurants, saved him.
Arousing his curiosity was the unusual color of the lobster, yellow saffron.
Being a rare species, Nunzio Franza decided to buy the specimen and donate it to the Genoa Aquarium.
It is a lobster called xanthromic, due to its yellow-orange color, due to the lack of ungene.
The new guest can now be seen in a Costa Rican tank in the Biodiversity Pavilion area.
