The prodigy of the 'miracle' of San Gennaro was repeated in Naples. The announcement of the liquefaction of the blood was given at 10.02 in an unusually empty Cathedral for the feast of the saint, due to the anti Covid-19 measures. The applause of the faithful present welcomed him. The blood was already dissolved by the time the ampoule was taken from the case.
"With joy and emotion - said Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Metropolitan Archbishop of Naples - the blood of our patron saint is dissolved".
The repetition of the 'miracle' is read as a good omen for Naples and Campania. The latter takes place three times a year: in September, on the day of San Gennaro, on the Saturday preceding the first Sunday in May, in December.
