Do not study?
Children may have a bigger problem because of the quarantine
Many are afraid of the educational harm to children, but as parents we should encourage them not only to study at home, but also to continue physical activity, also and especially on days of quarantine.
Experts ask - do not let your children become zombies (did you realize what we did here?)

If you are a parent of children, you have probably thought about harming your children's education due to dealing with the corona virus and in light of the second closure and the cessation of the education system.
But did you stop for a moment to think about the physical condition of the children?
Exercise in children is important not only for keeping fit, but also because it is related to children’s learning and academic achievement, and the recommendation stands at about an hour of sports a day.
Exercise is also related to their current and future health, well-being and quality of life.
Children and teens who engage in it routinely learn better and are healthier than those who are less active, and as a bonus they tend to be healthier as adults as well.

The problem of children's inactivity has not started now in Corona, but has been occurring for many years.

Still, the steady decline in the fitness of children and adolescents in recent decades may be accelerated because of the closures imposed in some countries, partial or full as in ours.
If there is no school, no breaks to play ball, no sports lessons, and most of the day children spend in front of the computer screen at home.

A recent study in Canada found that children and teens reduced their time outdoors, reduced exercise and increased screen time during quarantine, and may have further reduced their cardiopulmonary endurance.
If the findings are true, this sharp drop in fitness in 2020 has probably made the current generation of children the least active in history.
A recent study in the journal Obesity followed 41 obese children during the months of March-April in the Italian city of Verona.
Compared to the behaviors of the children documented and monitored in the previous year (2019), the researchers found that during the closure the children ate an average of one more meal daily, slept an additional half hour than usual, added almost 5 full hours to their daily screen time (in front of cell phone, computer, TV ) And significantly increased consumption of red meat, sugary drinks and junk food.
On the other hand, their physical activity decreased by more than two hours a week and the amount of vegetables they consumed remained unchanged.
After the closure, when schools start to reopen, we as parents and as a society will have to deal with problems caused by the corona virus, or those that have worsened, like the mental health crisis among young people.
Low physical fitness is a less visible crisis in the short term, but it has serious long-term consequences.
