The #cambiagesto awareness campaign against the dispersion of cigarette butts in the environment kicks off throughout the country.
The campaign, promoted and financed by Philip Morris Italia with the support of H +, ERICA and Retake, leverages the sense of individual responsibility, encouraging the adoption of virtuous and sustainable behavior for the environment.
After stopping in Palermo, Florence, Salerno, Livorno and Bari and having involved and sensitized over 50,000 volunteers and citizens, with the collaboration of the institutions and over ten local associations, the campaign arrives in Rome with an invitation to the whole of Italy to change gesture to preserve the environment and the beauty of our landscapes.
To date, the campaign has saved the environment about 250,000 cigarette butts and in the coming months it will continue its tour in the cities of Padua (5-24 October), Vercelli (26 October - 14 November), Genoa (16 - 29 November) and Bologna ( 1-20 December), with the aim of continuing to raise awareness among civil society on this issue and on the importance of small gestures to preserve the environment, also through collection and cleaning activities in the cities and the distribution of pocket cigarette butts to adult smokers.
The national launch of the campaign takes place on the occasion of # WorldCleanUpDay2020, the world day for cleaning the world, during which the Retake association, partner of the campaign, celebrates its tenth anniversary in Rome.
The campaign has already obtained the patronage of: the Municipality of Palermo, the Municipality of Salerno, the Municipality of Bari, the Municipality of Livorno, the Lazio Region, the Municipality of Rome and the Municipality of Padua.
