Honey and pomegranate, as everyone knows, are the most well-known holiday symbols for a long time, but many will be surprised to find that apart from their culinary use on Rosh Hashanah, they have also been used in the grooming industry for years, due to their health components and medicinal properties.

Documentation of this also exists in history.

Queen Cleopatra used to dip in a bath of honey and milk, Anne Queen of England used to anoint her long hair with a mixture of honey and oil and imperial women in China used to make exfoliating masks from crushed orange seeds mixed with honey.

Honey contains various vitamins including vitamin B, C, folic acid and various minerals.

It is considered as an effective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that disinfects the skin.

The high concentration of sugar in honey makes it bactericidal but nevertheless, in its pure state, since it absorbs liquids, it is recommended not to apply it directly over a large area inside with no additional ingredients as it will cause dryness and wrinkled skin appearance.

Pomegranate is considered a fruit rich in fiber, vitamin C and especially an antioxidant, so apart from the health benefits of consuming it, in the aesthetic aspect, the skincare and cosmetics industry often uses not only juice but also peel and extract pomegranate seeds as a natural anti-aging serum.

In folk medicine, pomegranate seeds and seeds can be used to make a powerful oil that nourishes the skin because of its activity as an antioxidant, and the high concentration of antioxidant fatty acids in it.

The ability of pomegranate seed oil to regenerate collagen tissue, slow down the appearance of wrinkles and aging skin and most importantly create a vital and radiant look of its own.

"Combining pomegranate and honey together for facial skin care is very effective," says Paula Blick - Dayan, an expert in natural medicine and combined cosmetics.

"Pomegranate is one of the healthiest fruits for the skin. Pomegranate seed oil is extracted from it which is considered essential for improving the appearance of the skin. As part of its properties it affects the skin's pigment and therefore it appears in various lightening products. Pomegranate has anti-inflammatory properties. Aging ".

"Honey is considered an antibacterial product - a type of 'skin antibiotic' and is therefore often used to heal wounds, burns, scars. I recommend putting a drop of honey on a bite or acne sore provided you are not allergic to honey and the healing will be quick."

For a homemade facial peeling mask that is suitable for all skin types, Blick - Dayan recommends crushing and squeezing the pomegranate seeds that came out of the juice (leave the seeds), add a grated apple and a teaspoon of honey.

Apply the mixture on the face, wait a bit and rinse.

The result is a significant improvement in the appearance of the skin.

Dr. Larissa Barak, owner of aesthetics clinics, notes that you can also make a hand peel based on pomegranate juice and honey at home: "Take two tablespoons of oatmeal, a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of pomegranate juice.

Mix everything into a uniform mixture.

Spread on palms, wait 10 minutes and rinse.

The result is smoother and brighter hand skin. "

For hair care and looking soft and shiny hair, Alona Schechter, owner of a cosmetics brand based on herbs, recommends mixing half a cup of honey with a quarter cup of olive oil.

The whole or half of the mixture depending on the length of the hair is applied to the hair after a light rinse, (not overlapping) and massaged well into the hair.

Wear a bathing cap, or wrap in cling film and wait - 30 minutes, then rinse well and dry.
