As the European quiz champion in the team and current German champion, Sebastian Klussmann, 31, is a know-it-all by profession. In the ARD quiz show "Asked - Hunted" candidates compete against quiz professionals like Klussmann. Whoever answers more questions correctly wins. Usually it is Klussmann and his colleagues. Klussmann has just published his first book, "Know better with the know-it-all".
SPIEGEL:
Mr. Klussmann, today we can call up almost all facts via search engines within seconds.

Klussmann:
Many speak of the post-factual age, but the swan song is too early.
Facts are our glasses through which we perceive the world.
The more facts I know, the more differentiated, louder, more colorful, more realistic I perceive the world.
It helps me to see connections, to recognize patterns.
And I am convinced that there is what is known as the Matthew effect when learning.
Whoever has is given.
When I know more, I can anchor new knowledge and build on what I know.
