The US restrictions on TikTok have been postponed by one week to 27 September.
This was stated by the Department of Commerce, stressing that the postponement of the app download ban was decided on the recommendation of Donald Trump.
The stop should have been triggered in the next few hours, on the night between Sunday and Monday.
But following ongoing negotiations and the
blessing of the deal with Oracle and Walmart,
a postponement was decided.
Meanwhile, TikTok has confirmed that it has filed a deal for its US operations that includes Oracle and Walmart.
The agreement, says TikTok in a statement, provides that Oracle is its 'technology partner' and that it can acquire a 20% stake in the company together with Walmart.
Oracle then specified that it will be a minority investor in TikTok Global, of which it will be a technology partner, or more exactly a "trusted technology provider".
Oracle will own 12.5% of TikTok Global.
