The drama series "Heirs" is the big winner of the 72nd Emmy ceremony that took place virtually tonight (Monday).

Israeli actress Shira Haas came out empty-handed.

The ace who starred in Netflix's "Rebel" based on the true story of Deborah Feldman, who escaped from the Satmar storks in Brooklyn, lost to "Guards" star Regina King.

HBO's "Heirs," which follows the dynamics and ego wars and control between the family of tycoon Il and billionaire media tycoon, has picked up five more Emmy Awards in three of the technical categories it has won before, including the most prestigious award for best drama series and lead actor Jeremy Strong.

The 24-year-old actress Zendaya, who began her professional career as a children's star on the Disney Channel, won Emmy as a lead actress in the drama "Euphoria," the American adaptation of the Israeli series created by Ron Leshem, and surpassed favorites like Oscar winner Olivia Coleman in Netflix's "Crown," winner Last year Judy Comer from "Kill Eve" and Jennifer Aniston made a TV comeback this year on the "Morning Show" of the streaming service Apple TV Plus.

Winner of the Emmy Award for Comedy Series: "Schitt's Creek"

The Canadian comedy series "Schitt's Creek", about a wealthy family who move out of their possessions and move to a remote town for its plethora of colorful characters, swept all seven categories in the comedy genre on its sixth and final season ending in April, including the Emmy Award for Best Comedy Series.

The series was created by veteran actor Eugene Levy (remembered as the bespectacled father with the thick eyebrows from the "American Pie" movie series) and his son Daniel Levy, who also won the acting awards.

This seems to be a trend of the Academy of Television to try and squint at a young audience in very specific selections of underdog series in cult status and without high viewing figures, as was also the case last year with the British "Flybag".

Despite event presenter Jimmy Kimmel's attempts to make people laugh without an audience on an impossible facilitation mission, Emmy 2020 was an unconventional and momentum-less television broadcaster due to the limitations of the Corona plague's social distance.

Although some players took a physical part in the broadcast, all the winners received the figurines in their homes and delivered speeches that were broadcast live on video, in some cases the Emmy jumped to them by surprise out of a box they received ahead of time.

At the ceremony, a special award was presented to African-American creator Tyler Perry, who in the 2000s became an entertainment tycoon worth over a billion dollars and who produces dozens of movies and TV series a year, with the ideal of providing almost complete representation to the black community.

The award was virtually given to him by Oprah Winfrey and comedian Chris Rock.

The edited and translated Emmy 2020 ceremony will be broadcast tonight at 22:45, on yes TV Drama, yes VOD and on STINGTV.
