is collecting resources to build the first Nature Classrooms distributed throughout the national territory.

The campaign will run for two weeks,

from 21 September to 4 October, the

date on which the Urban Nature initiative of WWF Italy is scheduled.

The last few weeks and the need to restart after the blocking period imposed by the COVID emergency have highlighted how our school is struggling with the new security measures to contain the infection.

Precisely for this reason, this year, WWF Italy has decided to dedicate its Urban Nature campaign to education with an extraordinary fundraiser that aims to build the largest number of Nature Classrooms from north to south of the peninsula.

"Now that the resources to invest in schools are in place, let us ask the government that nature become an integral part of the educational path, as well as education for sustainability with multi-year programs. But it will be some time before these resources become accessible. this is what we decided to throw our hearts over the obstacle and ask for the support of citizens to start building the first Nature Classrooms: we

will deliver the first one next September 24 to a school in the province of Bergamo

".

The president of WWF Italy Donatella Bianchi says so.

Primary schools or institutes including metropolitan areas characterized by situations of scarcity of greenery and / or in territories that have to face particular environmental or health problems can apply to host a nature classroom.

Schools with a substantial percentage of pupils in situations of fragility or disadvantage;

those that have included in their programming activities and projects of environmental education and that in the past have carried out significant projects on environmental issues or linked to sustainability.

To be able to nominate an institution, it is necessary that there is the favorable opinion of the school manager and of the Municipal Administration, that there is a free outdoor space of at least 80 square meters and that one undertakes to guarantee the use and maintenance of the classroom once delivered.
