Covid-19 in France: more than 10,000 new cases in 24 hours

The number of new cases stood at more than 13,000 on Saturday and more than 10,000 on Sunday.

The positivity rate (proportion of positive people compared to the total number of people tested)

increases for the fourth day in a row

this Tuesday.

It now stands at 6.1%.

61 new clusters

Over the past seven days, 4,244 patients have been hospitalized for SARS-CoV-2 infection, 141 more than the figures announced Monday.

Among these patients, 651 were admitted to intensive care (+ 13 compared to the day before), indicates the public health service.

Since the start of the epidemic, at least 31,416 deaths linked to Covid-19 have been recorded in France, including 20,845 in hospitals.

Every day, the figures published by Public Health France also include the number of clusters identified in the country.

This Tuesday, the total number of clusters under investigation in the country stands at 1,031 (+ 61 since Monday), of which 180 have been identified in nursing homes.
