Thailand was one of the favorite countries for the Israeli tourist in the period before Corona and the longing of the Israelis for canopies in the country can be seen in the various tour groups of Thailand on social media.

Now, it seems that quite a few tourists will soon be able to come to Thailand and even for long periods that can suit those who have moved to work remotely.

The Thai government is expected to announce next month an interesting offer for tourists - a 90-day residence permit for those who agree to spend two weeks in isolation in the country.

If you are concerned about the isolation, the Thai government has made it clear that the isolation will be done in good hotels and among them also some luxurious resorts where you can spend the first two weeks in Thailand.

It has not yet been decided whether entry into the country will require negative results of corona tests.

In the first phase only 1,200 tourists each month will get approval for the long vacation in Thailand and if you are among the lucky ones to win a visa, you can extend it without any problem twice, which means you can stay in Thailand, without restricting traffic for nine months in a row.

The Thai government, which until now has not required visas from Israeli tourists as well as tourists from dozens of countries, now requires a visa to be issued as part of this process and as part of entry into the country in general.

According to a report in the Bangkok Post, registration will begin in the coming days and no country restriction has been written, which means that at present, Israelis may also be able to register, although it is not inconceivable that in the Thai government official announcement it will restrict visitors from green countries only.

Currently there are no direct flights from Israel to Thailand, the ways to get there for those who manage to register will be through a third country.

Thailand is one of the countries that has managed to overcome the virus in the best way in the world with very low numbers of infected and getting rid of the corona virus.

However, there is quite a bit of criticism in the country about the closing of the gates as the livelihood of many of the citizens of the countries depends on the foreign tourists visiting Thailand.
