Interim Results Encouraging Experimental Israeli Treatment of Corona Patients: 11 out of 12 corona patients treated with antibodies showed improvement in their condition and were discharged home within an average of four and a half days, from the moment they received the treatment.

The treatment given is an antibody produced by the Israeli company Kamahada and extracted from the blood plasma of the recovering patients.

The company has isolated from the blood plasma several antibodies that appear to be effective in neutralizing the corona virus.

The donors from whom the plasma was taken are those who have developed a high level of antibodies against the virus.

Phases 1 and 2, which were designed to test the safety of the treatment, were carried out during the month of August at Hadassah Ein Kerem.

All patients who received the experimental treatment while hospitalized in the Corona compound at the hospital, demonstrated an immediate improvement in their health condition and were released to their home a few days later.

12 patients aged 69-34 were recruited for the study.

These are patients who suffered from pneumonia but did not breathe, of whom 8 were treated at Hadassah and the rest at other hospitals.

They were treated with a single 4-gram dose of the drug, which was given to them within five to ten days of the onset of symptoms of the disease.

According to research procedures, follow-up of patients will last 84 days - even after their discharge from hospitals.

The results - in January 2021

The company reported that improvement in symptoms was observed in 11 of the 12 patients within 48-24 hours of treatment;

And that all 11 of these patients were discharged from the hospital within an average of four and a half days, from the moment of treatment.

"Plasma donations from corona recoverers are collected at Hadassah in light of our initiative, and the public comes in an impressive volunteer spirit and a desire to donate for the salvation of others and enable the development of treatment," says Hadassah CEO Prof. Zeev Rothstein. A person who has fallen ill and recovered will be tested for suitability as a donor and will be our partner in a path that is full of giving, humanity and human love. "

Kamhada emphasizes in its publications that the main results of the experiment are expected to be published in January 2021.
