The consumer organization UFC-Que Chooser filed a complaint against Nintendo on Wednesday.
The manufacturer of video game consoles is blamed for “planned obsolescence”.
The association accuses him of putting on the market game controllers that break down very quickly.
This premature wear and tear is known as Joy-Con drit, named after the Switch's detachable controllers, the Joy-Con.
The crime of planned obsolescence was created by the 2015 law on energy transition and green growth. The penalties can be up to two years' imprisonment and a fine of 300,000 euros, or even 5% of annual turnover.
