'Champions' of Tuscan food protagonists in Siena

SIENA - The 'champions' of Tuscan food return to Siena on 29 and 30 September with the second edition of Buyfood Toscana 2020, a showcase dedicated to PDO, Igp and Agriqualità products from the region.

The inauguration on 29 September at 11 in Santa Maria della Scala live on the web (on www.regione.toscana.it, www.intoscana.it, on the Fb profiles of buyfoodtoscana, intoscana.it, cameracommercioFI, vetrinatoscana.it and YouTube of Intoscana.it and vetrinatoscana.it) as the two cooking shows organized the following day in the Loggia dei Nove in Palazzo Pubblico.

The B2B meetings will also be online (from 28 September to 2 October) with 45 producers and 38 buyers from 17 countries.

Five categories of products of Buyfood 2020: cheeses with Pecorino delle Balze Volterrane Dop and Pecorino Toscano Dop;

extra virgin olive oil with Chianti Classico Dop, Terre di Siena Dop, Seggiano Dop and Toscano Igp;

breads, desserts and flours with IGP Tuscan Cantucci, PDO Tuscan bread, IGP Panforte and Ricciarelli di Siena, fresh filled pasta and dry pasta for Agriquality;

vegetable products with Marrone del Mugello IGP and Agriqualità toasted barley;

cured meats and meats with Cinta Senese Dop, Finocchiona IGP, Lardo di Colonnata IGP, Mortadella di Prato, Tuscan Ham Dop, Italian Salamini alla cacciatora Dop and White Beef from the Central Apennines IGP.

Dop, Igp and Agriqualità products will then be the protagonists of the two cooking shows on 30 September - one dedicated to the English-speaking public - with chefs Silvia Baracchi and Stefano Pinciaroli.

An educational tour has also been organized (1-2 October) to make known in the area how the 'champions' of Tuscan food are born.

BuyFood Toscana 2020 is an event of the Tuscany Region and the Florence Chamber of Commerce - PromoFirenze, organized by Fondazione Sistema Toscana with the collaboration of the Municipality of Siena and the support of Assocamerestero and the Qualivita Foundation.

It makes use of the synergy of Vetrina Toscana, a regional project and Unioncamere Toscana which promotes restaurants and shops that use typical Tuscan products.
